Sunday Summary
I've forgotten about the blog though (thanks to Google Reader) I've stayed current reading others. I was surprised to see it had been a week since I posted. I'm more active on twitter, facebook and even flickr. If you use those applications and haven't friended me yet then email: asujoan@yahoo.com.
I'm enjoying the quiet of January. Our schedules seem to slow down during the winter. We don't have football to attend on the high school and college level. Our son did decide to join the swim team on a whim. Surprise to us, he has moved on to the regionals but it does not have the time commitment of other sports. (He wants to make it clear he's a football player who swims not vice versa). The school calendar has holidays and teacher work days scattered through out for the kids to catch up. It is the busy time at work but it's manageable. Right now I've had over 12 hours of being alone at my house. It doesn't happen often and I wouldn't want it to but it is a nice change of pace.
I've said before I don't try to be materialistic but I confess when I really want something I usually get it (within reason). I posted about the iPod. I use it all the time not as much for music but audio and video podcasts and audio books. J if you ready this, I'll confess I got a KitchenAid stand mixer soon after I posted about one on your blog. I'm proud to say I hunted around. With the sale price and rebate, I saved $100. It, too, I use all the time. I constantly have baked goods at the house. This school year I've made an effort to bake the bread, sandwich rolls, and cookies for the kids rather than buy them. There is another item I've longed for ... Wii Fit. I caved in and bought it. Yeah I hate to spend the money but I really need a change in my fitness routine. I'd like to get my daughter using it as well. She doesn't do sports. She runs around with her friends and has P.E. class but I'm trying to emphasis to her about forming healthy habits that will continue throughout her life. With that said, I'm putting to use a few money saving strategies. I may post about them at a later date.

I've recently gotten into Podcasts. But I'm still weary about anything video on my Zune. I just don't know how many GB's those things will eat up. I'm afraid that if I download a video, the thing will crash like the Tower of Babel.
The photo is beautiful =)
I don't have an iPod or Wii ... I am so out of the loop !
I still can't find anyone on Facebook ... 'cept my blogging buddies, LOL
I don't have the time for Twitter since you have to stay on to keep up with the flow.
BUT ... I am addicted to Mobsters and Vampires on MySpace. [snor]
I'm a recent FB addict as well! This time of year I just don't have as much to blog about so I forget about it, too.
My middle child is in the same boat. She was going to try out for soccer but made it to conditioning for a week before proclaiming herself a drama geek. Like she doesn't cause enough drama at home......
I am the same way about material things.. I try not to be materialistic but if there's something I really want, I'll get it. I'd love to have a Wii Fit but I guess first I'd have to have a Wii.
In this society it is difficult not to consume.
I think this year my household will be consuming a lot less. I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing.
