My house has signs of the season but I undecorated my blog. I was going through my pictures on flickr. I decided to post a few beach scenes to warm everyone up.
For me, it was better than usual. I've said many times I am not a fan of the season. I think the good which has come out of this economic mess and even my Mom's health, is I felt justified in saying "We need to scale back. Christmas needs to be about people not things." In the past when I've tried to bring up that whole idea, I thought others looked at me as making excuses.
How was your Christmas?

I am so glad it is OVER!
It's gone for another year. It'll be interesting to see what the new year brings.
Mine was better than usual, as well, for the same reasons that you posted. Somehow this year, there weren't so many huge expectations (monetarily) so we focused more on spending time together instead of spending money.
I'm glad you had a nice Christmas. Mine was very nice too. The beach shots are great and make me wish I was on one right now. My co-worker is in Florida, by Miami, right now. I keep thinking of him, having fun in the sun!
I couldn't agree with you more about cutting back and putting the focus of Christmas on the people and the relationships in our lives.
mine was wonderful...but ya, we need to concentrate on the People...not the Things. and I would feel SOOOO much better if I was right in the middle of those pictures right now!!!
xoxoxox
I've had a great one.
My mother is in the middle of a two week visit, and dear gosh, though I love her I'm going a little nuts.
I can do NO right. Shannon
