I have a mother and a grandmother (she's 99). I'm so low down on the the Mother's Day totem pole that I don't feel it's my holiday. A great Mother's Day gift for me would be for my kids and husband to take care of getting gifts and cards for the grandmother and great grandmother. Hmm, that's an idea I might just have to pass on to them!

I still have a great-grandma (97), so I get your drift!
I sent this link to hubby, I thought it was full of good tips.

Hahahahaha that's brilliant! I'm going to help my Mom clean out her closet! And I'm sending everyone else a simple card.
I asked for my husband to fix things around the house that have been left undone for months now. He thought I was joking. I WASN'T!
that is a great idea!!!! Tell 'em to take over...best gift you could get.
Shoot, this year, we're celebrating me. I'm giving my mom her present tomorrow and didn't get my MIL anything. That's my husband's job. I figure my mom and grandmother have had YEARS of celebrations and they won't miss this one that I'm taking for myself.
I like your idea of your husband and kids taking care of getting the gifts and cards. That's a great suggestion!
I used to feel that way, but then I realized the day would come when I wouldn't have my grandmas (I still have two), a mother, a step mother, and a mother in law, and I would miss them all terribly. So I suck it up, and buy them all cards, and I'm happy to be able to do it. Not that I don't have the same kind of feelings you have...I do.
