An Annual Tradition

The kids are home and I'm off work because of the MLK Holiday. When I was pregnant with my first child, we got a baby dresser handed down. It had been in my family for years. I found this in it:

It's dated 1970 which places it in my parents' home. My brother was 1. I won't get into the irony of my family having a MLK calendar. 'Not worth posting. My husband and I try to bring up our children a little differently than we were raised. Anyway, I still have the dresser and each year I bring the calendar out.

I wonder how it came to be there? Interesting.

Hey Joan! It's funny but when you posted to my blog this morning, I didn't put two and two together and see that you were the same as my new flickr buddy! Thanks for coming by my blog and thanks also for leaving your comment.

The MLK calendar is cool. Nothing like having an item like that to make history live and breathe. Very cool that you found it and held on to it!

Thats "one of those things" that your kids will remember too. Awesome that you have saved the calendar.
